About the Organization

Kolkata Sahajpaath founded in the year 2006 on August 9 by introducing our Computer Training Program for school students at Ratnagar High School at Dumdum, Kolkata. The program was inaugurated by Ms. Rekha Goswami, the then Minister, Self Employment, Govt. of West Bengal. The organization was registered on November 10th, 2006 with the noble thought to spread the Basics of Computers amongst the needy and deprived students of financially and socially weak schools. An organ of Potomac South Run Foundation, USA has been sincerely engaged in their duty for past 10 years.
This noble concept was initially introduced by Mr. Asok Kumar Motayed, Mr. Aniruddha Bhattacharya and Dr. (Mrs) Anjali Bhattacharya, all based in USA, whose untiring efforts have smoothly paved our path towards a greater goal. The mentors of the organization introduced “Computer Literacy and Enhancement Program, CLEP”. The Modus Operandi of the organization is to locate a school and remain in association with the school for 2 years until the school becomes self sufficient and confident to run the program on their own accord. The contract of two years may be further extended for another year on special requests from the concerned school authorities. The organization provides the schools with requisite computer amenities, training kits, furniture (if required) and appoint qualified trainers approved by the school board. The total costs for running the training program is borne by Kolkata Sahajpaath. On attaining self sufficiency, the program is withdrawn, but the infrastructure and equipments remain donated to the school.

We endeavor to provide our welfare services to schools in Kolkata and adjoining districts and to more interior schools who are not yet capable of availing the resources for computer training on their own accord. During the past ten years we have served our purpose to 13 schools and institutions who are now running their programs successfully. We endeavor to provide our welfare services to more interior schools who are not yet capable of availing the resources for computer training on their own accord. Further we also intend to widen and diversify our field and scope of welfare activities for the betterment of the common people. At present our focus lies on remote Sunderban schools. Our efforts to introduce our program at Rajat Jubilee High School located in the door steps to Sunderbans, has been a great achievement for us. We intend to move into more schools. Further we also intend to widen and diversify our field and scope of welfare activities for the betterment of the common people.  For this purpose, we are assisted by Potomac South Run Foundation, USA, and from Donations exempt under Section 80G(5)(VI) of Income Tax Act.

Students from Class V to X and XI-XII are included and it is made compulsory for all students to enroll in the program at a very nominal fees of Rs.120/- per year (Rs.10/- per month). Matter taught is according to the standards of the Education Boards of West Bengal and H.S. Council.

Besides imparting training to school students, After/Before School Hour Program is also organized at the school premises during the non-school hours. This program is operated for outsiders who wish to learn computers for a nominal fees. Basic Computer courses along with other advanced courses on Financial Accounting Packages, DTP training, and tailor-made crash courses are also taught here on requirement. The revenue earned from these programs are utilized for further developments of the program within the school itself.
